Since 2011 I have been using the foam roller, which was life-changing.
I have removed the pain in the knees and hamstring by using it.
It is the same with the Foam roller as with everything else. It’s not enough to buy it; you must use it regularly to see the result.
It is good to have two types of foam roller and two types of balls to use with it. Start with a softer foam roller because if you go directly in the hard one, it’s likely that you will only do it once and then no more. Few people like to feel excruciating pain, so start easy and then take it to step by step further. I recommend that you have a hardball with a foam roller like a golf ball and then one bigger like a baseball. You can use the balls under the feet, shoulders, and butt. Then when you progress, you should get a more rigid roller and a bigger ball to go deeper into the legs and shoulder.
For me, the foam roller is an excellent combination with a massage gun. I feel they have a different approach, and together they make me softer and better than if I use only a massage gun or roller.
I use the roller as a part of my warm-up, but then I only use it on my weak spots. I take the entire legs after training or in the evening.
The good thing about using the roller is that you can do it in front of the TV or when taking a call. Even if it is best to do it when you are warm, I have found it to be better to take a session in front of the Tv in the evening after dinner than skipping it as I didn’t have time to do it directly after training.
