Create awareness of how you are feeling to be able to move forward to a better life
We see advertisements about a better body, healthy food, exercise, vitamins, etc., everywhere. We promote healthy life as a healthy body.
How often do you see advertisements about dealing with loss, coping with mental issues, build a healthy mind?
- When have you sat down and written how you want to feel, or what kind of person are you striving to become?
- How are you going to talk to yourself and your people?
- Do you know who it is that brings you the most joy in life
- When life is at its worst, who is there to help you up
- What do you do when your friends and family members need help? Are you there for them?
- When did you tell someone important in your life how important he is and why?
- When did you do something wrong and apologise?
- If you have never asked yourself the questions above, now is the time to start. We must be just as aware, disciplined and focused on our mental health and those around us as we are on our bodies.
When I am coaching people to start being aware of their mental health, I ask them to have a diary for a week and write how they feel in different situations over the day.
I do this to create awareness, so you have a starting point. Then you should write down how you want to feel and plan how to get there.
Put the same energy and focus on your mental health as you do on other things in life; it will be a high-return project.
